Athens alone is worth a trip to Greece : the Acropolis, the Parthenon, the Acropolis Museum, the Plaka area, Monastiraki area, the antique agora, the Syndagma (Constitution) Square are – just to name a few - some of the highlights of the city.

Capital of modern Greece , Athens has been founded in 3000 B.C. as a small fortified village at the foot of the Acropolis. It owes its name to the Goddess Athena who won a fight against Poseidon.
Her temple, one of the most famous structures of the Acropolis, the Parthenon, is a temple surrounded by giant columns. Through history it has been used both as a church and mosque.

Athens counts today 4 million inhabitants, almost half of the total Greek population.

To discover the city, wandering through the tiny streets and the popular areas is incomparable: bazaars, gardens, Byzantine Churches and magnificent ruins remind the turbulent past and dynamic present of the city.
